Contestants may submit up to one entry per category (i.e., Small SingleMiniature, Large Single Miniature, and Squad/Regiment). All miniatures must be painted by the contestant.
Miniatures from all gaming or non-gaming systems are allowed, as long as they adhere to the rules of the category. AI-art of any kind is not permitted under any circumstances
The contestant’s submission can be anything (i.e. fantasy, sci-fi,historical etc.) as long as it adheres to the rules of the selected category.
Entry fee for The Golden Swan is 25DKK to be paid upon submitting your entry. The entry fee grants you access to participate in all categories.
In order to best prepare for the event, we request that all submissions are registered online before Monday March 10th. Doing so on time will be awarded by a beverage of your choice. We will make every effort to allow for late entries to register, to allow for as many participations as possible. All submissions must behanded in by Saturday, March 15th10.00 for displaying and judging.
Painting competition judges are not eligible to enter the competition but areallowed to display their work.
By participating in The Golden Swan, all contestants grant the organizers the right to photograph and record video footage of the entries and the participants. These images and videos may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, and future event promotions. By entering, you agree to allow the use of your work in these materials.
GT- Denmark reserve the right to disregard any entry deemed inappropriate due to content or message.
Painting Quality: Color usage, blending, shading, and consistency.
Technical Skill: Brush control, freehand work, and fine detail.
Theme & Cohesion: How well the miniature(s) tells a story, atmosphere,or represents a theme
Basing: How the base fits with the aesthetic of the miniature, the choice ofcolors etc.
Creativity: Originality and uniqueness of the model.
Overall Presentation: Aesthetic appeal of the completed miniature.
Any single humanoid or monstrous miniature up to 55mm in height
Any single miniature up to 55mm in height. The height is measured fromthe lowest to the highest point of the body. Banners or any other protruding pieces that may be higher, will not be counted.
The miniature may have a mount or vehicle, but they will count towards the 55mm. Small decorative figurines on the base are permitted, but the miniature must be the focus of the piece.
Any large single miniature, monster, or vehicle
Any single miniature over 55mm in height (excluding base). The rules follow the same as those for small single miniature.
Large models can include monsters, large creatures, or vehicles, focusing on painting techniques suitable for larger surfaces.
Group or diorama
A group should consist of a cohesive unit of 3 to 10 miniatures that belong together thematically. The miniatures do not have to be partof any game-system, nor do they have to be from the same game system.
A diorama should be a creative piece centered around story telling, atmosphere and/or interaction between characters. Examples of this could be a dual, a narrative scene or a framed diorama.
For practical purposes, the footprint of the diorama should be no larger than 30cm x 20cm.
Judging will consider uniformity, color consistency, composition, and how well the entry works together, in addition to the quality of individual models.
Special Award - Best Young Painter (age 15 or younger):
This award is open to participants aged 15 or younger, regardless of category.
All eligible young painters will automatically be entered for this award based on their overall performance across the competition.
Foreach category a bronze, silver and gold trophy will be awarded. Atrophy for best young painter will also be awarded.
Winners will be announced March 15th,at 18.30.
